Hi everyone,
I really don’t understand, was told from my bloods and DAS score that I am in remission but my fingers are still painful and over the last couple of days my feet have started hurting again.
I thought remission would mean no pain or tiredness.
Is it normal to still be in pain? Is the pain always going to be there? I don’t know if anyone can answer this for me as I know we are all different, with varying pain thresholds etc, but would be grateful for any thoughts you might have.
Thanks
Mary

Hello, I have never been in remission, but I would think that once damage has been done to joints there will be pain, remission or not. My level of inflamation is lower at the moment, thanks to orencia, I'm a lot less stiff, but still lots of painful joints I pressume because of damage. Sorry dont sound very cheerful do I? but I have just resolved my self to accept it the way it is. Hope others can be more possitive for you!!

Hi

Your bloods are one thing, your physical presentation is another.

A good rheumatologist looks at both.
It might be that you are having a livelier moment with the ra and need something to try and help get through?

Or it can be an infection or virus, severely stressful event or injury can put the ra up again.

Best see a dr and get some treatment for a time at least, of course the damaged tendons and bones will continue to hurt even without active disease in there.
